Our Story
In 1963, Sandy’s father saw a gap in the way Northern Indiana got its fluid power components. Big-city distributors were shipping in parts from Chicago, but local manufacturers, machine shops, and equipment builders needed faster access — and they needed someone on the phone who actually knew what they were looking at. So he opened Dewald Fluid Power on West 8th Street in Mishawaka and started stocking what the local industry actually used.
Six decades later, we’re still at that same address. We’ve added engineering support, built out the custom hose assembly counter, grown our line card to dozens of trusted fluid power brands, and extended our service radius from South Bend to Indianapolis to Southwest Michigan. The things that haven’t changed: the people who answer the phone know what’s in the warehouse, and the family who started Dewald is still running it.
Three Generations of the DeCicco Family
Sandy DeCicco — Owner
Sandy is the daughter of Dewald's founder and has been part of the business for most of her life. She took over ownership from her father and continues to guide the company's direction and values.
Nick DeCicco — President
Sandy's husband, Nick runs Dewald's day-to-day operations, manages vendor relationships, and leads our sales team. He's been at Dewald for more than two decades and is the person most customers and vendors deal with directly.
Rocco DeCicco
Third generation. Rocco works alongside his parents in the business and represents the next chapter of Dewald's family leadership.

Inside Sales
The people who pick up when you call. They size parts, check availability, prep quotes, and answer the questions that keep your job moving — whether it's a $50 fitting or a $15,000 custom power unit.
Outside Sales
Our field reps covering Northern Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Indianapolis. They visit OEMs and service shops, walk plant floors, and bring knowledge (and sometimes parts) directly to customers who need on-site support.
Engineering Support
The engineers who spec custom hydraulic power units, cylinders, manifolds, and workholding fixtures. When "off the shelf" isn't the answer, this is who you'll talk to.

Dewald is a full-service industrial hydraulic and pneumatic distributor. On any given day, we’re:
- Stocking and shipping 10,000+ industrial components from our Mishawaka warehouse
- Building custom hydraulic hose assemblies at our counter — usually in under 30 minutes
- Configuring and building custom DC hydraulic power units for mobile and industrial applications
- Supplying OEMs and service shops through direct account relationships
- Engineering workholding, fixture, and custom cylinder builds for production manufacturing
- Representing 30+ fluid power brands across hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, hose, workholding, safety, and adhesives

Dewald is a Michiana business. Our building sits in Mishawaka, our team lives in the surrounding communities, and most of our customers are within an hour of our counter. We sell into Northern Indiana’s industrial backbone — South Bend, Elkhart, Goshen, Warsaw, Fort Wayne, Plymouth — plus Indianapolis and Southwest Michigan. We show up at regional trade events, we know the manufacturing landscape here, and we take pride in being part of the community that’s kept us in business for over six decades.
